Is it correct that all composite doors are the same?
That isn’t the case. The depth of a standard composite door will usually be about 44mm, and it will have a foam filling. Most standard composites also have a GRP colour skin (widely known as fibreglass) and are quite lightweight.
Our composite door is thicker, 48mm in depth, and constructed using laminated layers of timber, which creates a more robust and durable door than a foam-filled equivalent. You can also colour match their UPVC skin to the door frame.

Can I have a different colour on the inside to the outside?
Yes, we can certainly accommodate this request and apply separate finishes to the inside and outside of your door should you want e.g. a red exterior and white interior. Or maybe a green finish externally with a blue finish internally is more to your taste? Just inform the advisor of your colour preferences.

How many keys are supplied?
Your door will come with 3 keys as standard, but you can ask for extra keys when placing your order. If you need more keys cutting in the future, no problem.
Can I have a key that fits both doors? (Suited)
That can be arranged. Just inform your advisor during the ordering process and they will get some suited keys organised so that they’ll be compatible with both doors.
What does Secured by Design mean?
Secured by Design is an initiative established by the Police that’s concerned with enhancing the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings to make places safer to live in.
SBD’s product-based accreditation scheme – the Police Preferred Specification – is the acknowledged standard for products that can sufficiently discourage and minimise crime. It applies to domestic windows and doors and their respective components e.g. locks and hinges.
Conservatory Outlet, which is our sister manufacturing company, is a registered member of Secured by Design, so most of our product range meets the required standard. Let your advisor know if security is a fundamental priority and they will account for that when you’re buying your door.
What does a 3-star rated door barrel mean?
If you want the highest rated door cylinder available, you want a 3-star rated door barrel, which has shown time and time again that it can thwart break-ins. There is snap-secure technology with a lockdown mode in our door cylinders to stop any compromising of the barrel.
Can you completely fold back a French door?
You can if you have an egress hinge added to the French doors, which gives you the ability to fully fold back the door and gain an amazing garden view.
Do I buy a sliding patio door or bi-folding door?
Either solution will be a good option if you have an expansive opening at the back of your house and wish to connect the space to your garden on warm, sunny days. A bi-folding door works like a concertina and can be folded out of the way, leaving you with a massive opening. Sliding patio doors work a little differently and have very trim frames, ensuring you of a wonderful outdoor view when open or closed. Use the experience of your advisor if you need it.
